How Verbose Started.
Phi and Carlos met at Zulily, where they quickly found common ground in their passion for customer journeys and thoughtful communication. Over the past decade, they've led lifecycle strategy at brands like Peloton, Casper, Keeps and Misfits Market, helping redefine what it means to engage customers across the full journey.
During their years in-house, they watched lifecycle marketing evolve from a channel-specific function (email, SMS, push) into a strategic pillar of the customer experience—one that touches the full customer journey across product, CX, growth, and brand. As the discipline became more cross-functional, they saw how difficult it was to find external partners who could operate at that level. Most agencies were too siloed, too surface-level, or too focused on execution without accountability for outcomes.
So they set out to build the kind of partner they’d always wanted: one that feels like a true extension of your team and thinks about your business the way an internal teammate would.Drawing on their in-house experience, they designed Verbose as a seamless, embedded fractional model—offering strategic depth, executional firepower, and cross-functional collaboration from day one.
Even as founders, Phi and Carlos still revel in the details of excellent lifecycle marketing, whether mapping strategy with executive teams or jumping into Iterable or Klaviyo to fine-tune an A/B test.Together, they bring deep operator experience, startup scrappiness, and a mission to make lifecycle marketing as seamless, human, and impactful as the brands they proudly partner with.
